KOMPOZIT T.A. — GRP pipes

ESG · TCO · Local content

Sustainability

How much energy the pipe saves, how long it lasts, and what stays in the country from every order. With figures and their sources.

OWN GENERATION

Our own solar power plant

A 292 kW solar power plant has operated on the factory site since May 2026. It covers up to 80% of the plant's electricity consumption.

WATER-ENERGY NEXUS

Lower pumping energy

The smoothness of GRP (Hazen–Williams coefficient ≈ 150) does not degrade over time — saving 20–30% of pumping station electricity across decades of operation.

GHG REDUCTION

Reduced carbon footprint

Replacing imported heavy steel pipe with local production in Dushanbe cuts transport emissions many times over.

NON-REVENUE WATER

Seismic and climate resilience

Bell-and-spigot joints with EPDM seals stay tight through seismic shocks, loess subsidence and temperature swings — with no loss of clean drinking water.

—Life-cycle economics

The benefit is counted across the whole service life

TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP

Total cost of ownership 40% below steel

The initial investment is offset by the absence of operating costs later on.

ASSET LONGEVITY

Over 50 years of service without corrosion

Water supply projects will not need refinancing to replace pipe after 25 years.

ZERO MAINTENANCE

Zero maintenance cost

Mains need no cathodic protection stations, as steel does, and no regular cleaning of internal deposits.

—Local economic development

LOCAL CONTENT

Contribution to the national economy

Pipe for state projects is made inside the country rather than imported. The plant operates as a local taxpayer and supports related sectors, from transport to construction and installation.

SOCIAL IMPACT

Job creation

More than 100 skilled jobs for local engineers and workers in the industrial cluster.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Technology transfer

Composite production was set up in partnership with international specialists, raising the country's industrial capability.

CAPEX SECURITY

Reliable construction schedules

Shipment from the Dushanbe warehouse straight to site. Installation is 3–4 times faster than steel — projects are handed over on time.

MDB COMPLIANCE · Trust of financial institutions

Already in service on IFI-financed projects

The plant's pipes have passed technical and environmental compliance and are in service on projects of the Asian Development Bank (Kofarnihon station, KAF-1) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (water mains in Nurek). Production is certified to ISO 9001:2015; the products comply with ISO 10467, ASTM and AWWA.

About the data

Energy-efficiency and cost-of-ownership figures are taken from the plant's technical documentation and comparative calculations for pipelines of equal diameter. Project volumes come from works acceptance certificates. Detailed calculations for a specific project are available on request.
