Production

We manufacture fiberglass pipes using continuous winding technology, with diameters ranging from 400 mm to 3000 mm. In our production, we use advanced technologies and modern equipment, allowing us to create high-quality fiberglass pipes and composite products.

Fiberglass pipes from “KOMPOZIT T.A.” are used in public utilities (cold water supply, sewage, drainage), agriculture (irrigation, land reclamation), hydropower, and industry. These pipes are characterized by their affordable cost, ease of installation, corrosion resistance, and stable performance, making them suitable for various climatic conditions.

The company “KOMPOZIT T.A.” was founded as a result of a strategic partnership between the Tajik company “Avesto Group” and the Azerbaijani company “Azkompozit.” The company’s primary focus is on the development and implementation of advanced technologies in the production of fiberglass products.

Technologies in our production:

  • Continuous winding technology: This method involves the layering of resin-impregnated fiberglass in to the rotating pipe mold.
  • Pultrusion technology: The production of high-strength fiberglass profiles, angles, and pipes with diameters ranging from 50 to 300 mm used in anti-corrosion structures.
  • Molded grating technology: The manufacture of high-strength fiberglass gratings that are resistant to aggressive environments.
  • Continuous sheet lamination technology: The production of fiberglass roofing sheets and facade panels for aesthetic solutions.
  • SMC technology (compression under 800-ton pressure): The creation of strong products, such as manhole covers and other fiberglass components.
  • Hand lay-up lamination technology: The production of complex composite products and pipeline fittings according to individual technical specifications.

Our products comply with international quality standards and undergo rigorous testing for rigidity, strength, and resistance to various loads. We guarantee the reliability and durability of our products under specified operating conditions.

Process

The production process for fiberglass pipes begins with forming the first layer of the pipe in the Liner machine, where the pipe mold is rotated by an electric motor. The primary materials at this stage are food-grade polyester resin, polyester gauze, and a stitched fiberglass mat. Afterward, the mold is lifted and dried near a furnace, with heat evenly distributed to accelerate resin polymerization.

Reinforcement Stage

In the Winder machine, the process of continuous winding of fiberglass rovings, pre-soaked in polyester resin, takes place, giving the pipe additional strength. Depending on the customer’s technical requirements, a layer of quartz sand can be applied to the pipe, ensuring the necessary ring stiffness.

After polymerization, the quality control engineer inspects the pipe for readiness. If it meets the requirements, it is transferred to a lathe to cut the nipple part. After that, the pipe is removed from the mold and sent for visual inspection and cosmetic repair before being delivered to the customer.

Fittings

The production of fiberglass pipe fittings begins with the designer developing all necessary parts, including flanged connections, elbows, tees, reducers, and crosses. The designer sends the requirements to the production manager, who organizes the manufacturing of pipes of the required length, with or without a nipple and bell, depending on the fitting’s specifications.

In the main workshop, pipes are manufactured according to the customer’s technical specifications and then sent to a specialized workshop for fitting production. If a flanged connection with a nipple or bell is required, the pipe is cut in the middle, and the flanged part is formed according to the specified technology using polyester resin, chopped and woven mats.

To manufacture elbows, the pipe is cut at a specific angle depending on the required turn angle, and then the parts are joined by sequentially applying resin, chopped mat, and multiaxial fabric. Depending on the pipe’s ring stiffness and nominal pressure, the sequence of material application may vary. If quartz sand was used in the pipe production, a different technology without sand is used for fittings.

The production of fittings is entirely manual, ensuring high quality and precise adherence to all technical requirements.

Fiberglass Gratings

Fiberglass gratings are made using fiberglass rovings and polyester resin. The process starts by winding the fiberglass rovings in to a mold. Then, pre-mixed components — polyester resin, catalyst, accelerator, and dye — are poured in to the mold to impregnate the fiberglass. After this, the fiberglass is wound again in to the mold, and the procedure is repeated. The cells are pressed to remove air, and then, to accelerate polymerization, the mold is heated with hot water. Once the resin hardens, the grating is cooled for easy removal. The color of the gratings can be customized according to customer requirements.

Development Plans: In the future, we plan to expand the range of fiberglass products. New areas include the production of fiberglass automotive parts, furniture elements, playgrounds, construction materials, and storage tanks. These steps will allow us to offer innovative solutions for various industries, using advanced technologies and the strength of fiberglass.
